Hi
I'm actually in australia but your forum is active so I thought I'd say g'day.
After observing parkour for awhile, I have landed in a group here in Darwin. 2 weeks in and keen.
I'm 37. Is that really old for beginning this thing? Not that this will stop me. Just looking for some of the same.
But age is not what is important, of course. I'm after conversations about pushing beyond mediocre....or something.
The guys here are not good at staying focused on the basics. I just hate bad form. Makes me either a pain in the arse to them or I have to distance myself. Loses that 'team' feel.
cheers

Hi there. I just found this site and am super excited to see such a large community of traceuses. I've been training for almost two years with a great community here in Boulder and Denver. I am planning our first "girl jam" for this spring summer - and I am hopeful to get some advice or spread the word as we figure out details. I am on the older side (32)... older compared to the mostly high school and college guys I train with. We do have a handful of females in our community and it is so great to have that companionship. I'm going to check out the site and the forum some more. Cheers!

Hey!
I've always hated organized sports. I just has so much trouble sticking to the rules.
Ever since I was little, I've loved climbing around scenery, especially at places I shouldn't.
And then about a year ago I found a video on youtube of people doing this thing called 'parkour.'
I was amazed. This was actually a sport! This was just the thing for me.
Unfortunately, I'm a huge procrastinator, so it took me a while before I decided to start getting into shape.
I haven't progressed too far (I was really sick for a few weeks), but I have seen SOME improvement.
Anyways, that's my story.I'm not too good at form and all (I tend to chicken out right before an obstacle) but I'm working on it. I hope that I can get some good advice here and develop to my full potential. |
